Flats And Shops Proposal Approved For Disused Town Centre Hotel

Inverclyde Council Planners have approved a plan to convert the Star Hotel in Port Glasgow into flats and shops.

Rebecchi Architectural applied to change the use of the prominent town centre premises on John Wood Street in July 2024 with the plan now given the green light.

The public bar and lounge bar on the ground floor will be turned into two retail units under the plan.

The upper floors, which had nine bedrooms, will be converted into seven apartments, comprising one and two-bedroom units. The premises have been disused since March 2023.
